Lukas and Kalla came all the way from Canada for a babymoon here on the coast of North Carolina… and just in time to be welcomed by a forecast of tropical storms! 😅

We’d planned to meet days into their vacation, but as we both watched the looming weather predictions ahead, we decided just hours before sunset to pivot. We had a slender window of time to take their portraits with the smallest hope of sunshine, so immediately after pulling up to their airbnb, they freshened up and met me on Wrightsville Beach!

Shortly after we began, the overcast skies changed from gray to one of the most glorious sunsets I’ve seen yet here on the coast, bursting into a rainbow of colors that took my breath away… when I found out this session, with its cotton candy skies, rushing blue waves and warm tropical breeze, was in honor of their rainbow baby, I knew it couldn’t have been any more fitting.
