There are few times in life that provide the opportunity to synch your calendar with family and friends and plan one single, celebratory event that will bring everyone together in the same place, at the same time, for the same reason. After months of tedious and seemingly endless planning, suddenly you’ll find yourself in that moment you’d only dreamt of until now – the eye in the tornado of preparation – where all is still and you and your loved ones are present, together… with nothing but the sum of your plans and the freedom to enjoy them.

Our reasons to celebrate are countless, but the days we set aside to celebrate are numbered. This weekend held Ben and Caroline’s day… and along with half their guest list, they traveled from the United Kingdom all the way across the Atlantic Ocean to our southern port city in North Carolina, to celebrate not only the days that lead to this one, but the days this one makes possible.

The Atrium downtown Wilmington lent itself beautifully to their intimate ceremony setting. Combined with the romantic ambiance of the candlelit reception by Meg Henson Events and the garden-like florals by Serendipity Floral Designs, there seemed to be an aroma wakening all the senses and inviting every guest that came to stay a while…

Ben and Caroline, thank you for this absolute pleasure of experiencing your wedding day firsthand; for the opportunity to watch you laugh, hug, kiss, dance, feast and celebrate with the dearest in the world to you, near and far. Capturing the very best of these memories so they can be remembered for the rest of your days together has brought me so much joy and I hope in revisiting them, they will evoke even more joy in you.
