When I saw Davis and Rachel chose the Bakery 105 for their wedding venue, I knew we were set for the most beautiful portrait locations all day long! It’s right along one of my favorite streets in all of downtown Wilmington for portraits and barely a block from the riverwalk, which gave us an iconic view of the sunset overlooking the water at the end of the day. In addition to the historic charm of their ceremony and reception venue, they’d reserved The Cottage on Orange Street, which made a perfect little hideaway for Rachel and her bridesmaids during their preparation time. It also gave them a place to tuck away, sign their marriage license and enjoy a quiet moment together after their ceremony before joining for cocktail hour!
The soft autumn palette of sage green, peach and dusty rose was complimented beautifully by the cobblestone streets, washed brick walls and creeping fig ivy in the courtyard… a seamless transition from summer to fall wedding season! Coincidentally, “soft autumn” may also have been the perfect seasonal palette for their dog/ring bearer, Biggie, and his warm undertones… he sported his floral collar with total pride and dignity.
Davis and Rachel, I knew without question from your engagement session that your wedding would be an event every guest would look forward to all summer long! Not only are you incredibly organized, intentional and disciplined, you’re genuine and authentically present in the moment… a dynamic combo. Thank you for trusting me with this day of days in your story together! I thoroughly enjoyed capturing it from beginning to end and fully anticipate the crescendo of your lives will impact in positive, life-altering ways, those blessed enough to be in the sphere of your influence. Congratulations on your marriage!!!
